Krak Chocolate – St Vincent and the Grenadines


Flavour profile: a full-bodied powerful cocoa, earthy leather notes but also with lots of citrus and lime zest. Notes of bread and cashews. As in wine, the tannins stand out.

Ingredients: Cocoa beans and unrefined cane sugar.

This chocolate is Vegan, soy and gluten free. May contain traces of lactose and is made in a facility that does not process peanuts and tree nuts.

Dark chocolate made from cocoa beans from St. Petersburg Vincent and the Grenadines

St. Vincent and the Grenadines! North of Venezuela and between the Caribbean islands of Granada and Barbedos, lies the small island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Because of this crazy name, I didn’t work with the cocoa from this island.

The cocoa grows all over the island and is managed by the St. Peter’s Church. Vincent Cocoa Company. They manage 250 hectares of land and buy cocoa from about 100 farmers. The cacao grows among the corn, banana and ginger plants and in the shade of coconut and mahogany trees. The cocoa is fermented in a central location.
