Located in the province of Los Ríos, Ecuador, an area characterised by soils of formation with a climate and topography suitable for the production of the best cocoa beans in the world. We offer full traceability and with a unique and exquisite flavour, very creamy with a defined nutty taste and a hint of vanilla and cinnamon.

The grandparents founded Hacienda El Carmen, their first cocoa plantation in Los Rios, Ecuador, in the early 1930s. After years of hard work and surviving the Ecuadorian cocoa crisis, they continued to pursue their dreams of developing the best cocoa plantations in the world.

The fourth generation established Hacienda San Jose, a cocoa plantation that has been recognised and awarded for having the highest quality cocoa beans in Ecuador. These beans are known for their fine aroma and distinctive nutty flavours. Made by Ecuadorian hands, harvested, fermented, and dried using techniques that have been inherited and improved over the past century. From Tree to Bar.

From the planting of cocoa to the final product, the entire production takes place in Ecuador. This is called tree-to-bar chocolate. Tree-to-Bar goes a step further and provides employment and optimal quality control. The chocolatier has full control over how their cocoa grows and is processed, and that the chocolate is made in the same country of origin.
