HACIENDA VICTORIA-Estate
Thanks to the reforestation, the rolling savannah hills β sloping from the Andes mountains towards the Ecuadorian coast β can now also accommodate cocoa plantations again.
Hacienda Victoria is named after the founder’s wife, Carlos Eduardo GarcΓa Fuentes, who bought the estate in 2009. Some of the best professionals in the field of agricultural science were involved in conducting soil research.
Agreements have been signed with the National Institute for Agricultural Research (INIAP) to guarantee the supply of Arriba-certified seeds. Hacienda Victoria traditionally grows pure Arriba cocoa, Ecuador’s ancient cocoa variety. The latest addition is the La Perla variety. The farm operates in a sustainable, social and responsible manner certified by the Rainforest Alliance.
